Born in Sydney, Linton Meagher studied art at the Julian Ashton School and the University of Sydney, completing a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Fine Arts. Meagher’s semi-sculptural works use resin to cast objects in clear Perspex, thereby creating the effect of objects floating in space. His work has explored a number of themes, such as consumerism, beauty, death and the impermanence of time. Previous artworks have highlighted how various objects can be taken out of their usual context and presented in a way that challenges the viewer to question their wider meaning in society.
